10 Songs to Listen To
Here is one more of my ‘random songs you have to listen to’ lists. Click on the title to see the video/listen to the song…
As cheesy pop rock as Pink can be, this song really is quite beautiful especially the chorus… very powerful!
2. Jack Johnson – “It’s All Understood”
Possibly the nicest piano backing in a song of this style – it’s just full of melancholy although the lyrics don’t make a lot of sense to me.
3. Jamelia – “Something About You”
I am completely dedicating this song to one of my close friends simply because the lyrics could have been written for them:
You make me laugh one thousand ways
And I realise – you fill me up
Like hot water – in my tea cup
I’m enchanted by your smile
I must admit it took a while
For me to see that – this was something
More than – he’s my friend, it’s nothing
I hope to God you feel the way I feel
Caus this could be amazing
Something so super real
There’s something about you and you don’t even know it
I’m telling you now that you got me good
There’s something about you and I can’t help but show it
Damn right, you got me good
Now I’m not alone
With you I’m whole
I gotta let you know
You got me good
Your style, your voice, your points of view
The good, the bad and ugly too
Boy I’ll take it (give it to me)
I’ll be careful (give it to me)
Addiction don’t come close to this
Official is what this sh- is
Still I can’t say it
No I can’t say that I’m in love
4. The Raconteurs – “Steady, As She Goes”
This is a cover version but I absolutely love this with the heavy guitar riffs, definately rockin’!
Plus, Jack White looks well fit in this video…lol
5. Marcy Playground – “Coming Up From Behind”
This song is so ultra funky – heavy and rocky at the same. It’s another from the Cruel Intentions soundtrack – I should really buy that CD…
Most people know Semisonic for their Secret Smile song, and know this song really well but until recently I didn’t make the connection. This is a fantastic song and I know who I’d want to take me home!
7. Gavin Degraw – “I don’t want to be”
Many of you might recognise this song – it’s the theme tune to One Tree Hill. I love it – enough said!
8. Kayne West ft. Chris Martin – “Homecoming”
Again another abstract rap type song (unusual for me) but this has a fantastic tune to it and I love the chorus!
9. Jack Johnson – “Better Together”
This is only on the list because I really love Jack Johnson at the moment, and after a conversation with a friend who is getting married soon, this came up as a potential first dance song. After some debating I decided that this might well be my first dance song when I get married. The setting? A beach in Thailand with a certain person, chilling out…I can picture it so well!
10. Timbaland ft Nicole S – “Scream”
This song is unbeliveably hot – I love it so much – but the video is a little strange, I don’t understand it… how much did she get paid to do that!?
Well, that’s it for now – sorry it’s short but I have work to do
Love
This is a lovely quote about love I found. I’m going to dedicate it to a certain person who shall remain nameless.
“A mighty pain to love it is,
And ’tis a pain that pains to miss;
But of all pains, the greatest pain
It is to love, but love in vain.”
Abraham Cowley

R.I.P Heath Ledger
For those who have not yet heard, 28 year old Australian actor Heath Ledger (Brokeback Mountain, A Knight’s Tale) has been found dead in his apartment today, Tuesday 22nd Jan 2008.
The Telegraph have a full article on this sad news:

I personally felt quite shocked and sad when I heard the news; it is so unexpected and he was so young.
I am sure all of our thoughts are with his friends and family at this time
RIP Heath…
Road Sign Story
I have my driving test in 3 hours time.
So in line with this topic, here is a funny Road Sign based story…

A Bad Day
Dontcha just HATE bad days?
The kind of day where, from the very start, things go wrong and break, bad news hits, you hear things you wish you hadn’t, you get disappointed and messed around whilst things you expected and hoped for just don’t happen.
Or even worse is the Suprise Bad Day – the kind of day where you wake up feeling fine – maybe your first few hours are pleasant and rewarding, then WHOOSH it hits you twice as hard with twice as much crap as if to make up for the fact you even dared to expect a good day.
Either way, your mood is darker than the British sky for the duration of this miserable 24 hours.
[I'm having a bad day. Can you tell?]
One of the best cover songs…
House of the Rising Sun by Muse
Not only is the lead singer sexy as hell, but they did this song which makes me CRUMBLE I love it so much.
WOW.
Summer 2008: I can’t wait
Batman: The Dark Knight is released – I cannot wait. Enough said.
Mindless fun with Sand
